How to open Microsoft Office Word 2007 in Microsoft Office Word 2003, Word 2002, or Word 2000 (.docx or .docm files)

If you have Word 2007 and you want to open doc file such as .docx or .docm you will know that this is not an easy job. To open word 2007 in word 2003, Word 2002 or even Word 2000 you may not be able to open it because it’s different version.

But is there a way to open file Word 2007 in Word 2003 or any earlier versions? The answer is yes, and what you need to have it’s called Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system which you can download here, then install it and you will be able to open, edit some items, or save Word 2007 documents in in Microsoft Office Word 2003, Word 2002, or Word 2000 easily.

Good to know: You can open the word 2007 file in Word 2003 (or any previous versions) or you can edit/save it only but you can not to open Office Word 2007 template files that were saved in .dotx or .dotm format.

And the Macros, Mail merge and password-protected file will not work as the Macros and macro signatures will be removed, Mail merge data will be lost and you will not be able to connect to data sources and you will not be able to open password-protected files, although you know the password.

If you follow the methods above I believe now you can open word 2007 files in older version already!!
