How to remove paragraph symbol in word?

when I am on microsoft word before I type I get this black symbol like backward P in front of all my writing which is like two little lines and it is over all my documents can you please help me get rid of it and stop word doing this? I have never had this before and it is so annoying! Thank you.

There is a button to see hidden characters on your documents. If you or anyone have accidently press that button. Your Microsoft Word screen will look like this.

1. The symbol that annoying you.  2. The 'Show/Hide' button was selected.

What you have to do is just press the button 'Show/Hide' (No.2 in the picture above)again. Then your annoying symbol are now disappear as the picture below.
